Festival
of Mercy
Sin offends God.
Rev.
Charles Miller says we cannot even begin to imagine how bad sin is because we
cannot appreciate how good God is.
However, we know we can go to confession and
have our sins forgiven no matter how serious those sins may be.
Jesus warns us
that his forgiveness depends on whether we forgive others from the heart.
God’s
forgiveness must create a chain reaction of offering forgiveness anyone who has
offended us. It is never easy to forgive others especially when people insult
you in public and hurt you.
The strength of your character shows up when you
have bigness or a big heart to forgive.
God has a big heart for all of us to
render forgiveness.
God is willing to write off our huge debts of sin and he
expects us write off the meager amount of debts our brothers or sisters owe us.
How big of a heart do you have?
That’s why the young man in the fiery
furnace prays for God’s mercy.
Praying to forgive serious injuries is like
praying while burning in a fiery furnace, and if you do not pray to be released
from your unforgiving heart, you will indeed keep burning. Sometimes only God
can release you from such a furnace.
La Salette Shrine in Attleboro offers this
year a
“Festival of Mercy”
from March 27-28
beginning at 7 am till 7pm
an opportunity to be
released from the
clutches of sin by receiving the
Sacrament of Reconciliation/Confession.
During this time
anyone can walk into the chapel of reconciliation and be set free from the
furnace of sin.
Do you want to be released and relieved from sin or do you wish
to keep burning?
The choice is yours.
