Words from the Shrine Director...
My dear brothers and sisters, as we enter the month of June we began to
reflect on the Sacred Heart of Jesus! His Most Precious Blood and Body of Jesus
Christ, our Savior and Redeemer on June 22!
We also call to mind with gratitude to our earthly Father and our
heavenly Father on Sunday June 12!
June is truly is a very special month! It calls us to seriously dedicate
and prioritize in your daily life a special time with Jesus!
Pray, Reflect, talk
with Jesus, and see how much Jesus loves us. Come and be with
Jesus every Saturday we have the Blessed Sacrament Exposition from 1:00 pm to
4:00 pm to bless you! Remember we have
just walked with Jesus during Lent and Easter... then we walked with His mother
and Our Mother who shared in His Passion and Resurrection.
So, let’s focus on Jesus, in His Sacred Heart, in His Precious Blood and
Body... instituted on Holy Thursday, the sacrament of Holy Communion.
How do we prepare ourselves to receive Jesus in Holy Communion? Do we
really prepare our hearts to receive Him?
Do we take time to go to Confession to be totally free pure in our
hearts for Jesus’ Presence?
Corpus Christi – Body &
Blood of Christ – is a day of the four altars devotion representing the four corners of
the world. This is a precious time to honor Jesus’ sacrifice for our salvation.
There are many ways to journey towards sanctity; this is one important
way we can all apply to our lives. Our Lady calls us to pray the Rosary daily
for peace. In addition, we need to take time to be in Adoration with the Most
Blessed Sacrament either on the Altar or in the Tabernacle. Jesus is always
waiting for our attention so He may instruct and bless our lives.
A
Marian Message from our Holy Father Francis: We invoke the Virgin Mary
as Mother of Divine Providence. We entrust our existence to her, the path of
the Church and of humanity. In particular, we ask for her intercession so that
we can all make an effort to live in a simple and sober way, with our eyes open
to the needs of our brothers who most require our help.
Blessings be upon you and yours,
Fr. Tom Puthusseril, M.S.

Easter Message
Alleluia! He is risen.
Resurrection of Jesus is central to our faith. “If Christ has not been risen
from the dead our faith will be in vain”, says Paul. Resurrection restores our trust
in the Lord. It definitely restored Jesus’ faith and trust in God the Father
for He knew not what was in store for Him when He surrendered Himself to the
will of the Father in Gethsemane and breathed his last on the cross. Cross we have a few. We don’t have to
look for our crosses. Life will give that to us. If you say you don’t have one
just wait it will show up. Jesus did not look for the cross it came to him.
Jesus’ story tells us that we are invited by God to accept our crosses. James
Martin in his book Jesus the Pilgrimage says, “In every cross, there is an
invitation to new life in some way, and often in a mysterious way”. So we must
wait for the resurrection. The Cross is often where we meet God because our
vulnerability can make us more open to God’s grace. Thomas Merton writes, “ In
tribulation, God teaches us. The most unfortunate people in the world are those
who know no tribulations”. Mary Magdalene knew tribulations in her life and
Jesus met her in her sin, misery and pain. After the resurrection she did not
recognize Jesus but upon hearing “Mariam”, she knew that voice and immediately
said, “Rabboni”. “She knew that distinctive voice that called her into
wholeness when it expelled whatever demons troubled her, the voice that
welcomed her into his cycle of friends, the voice that told her she was valued
in the eyes of God. Mary recognized that voice of love. Sometimes seeing is not
believing but loving is. Mary heard that voice of Jesus, the risen one, because
in the words of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the voice of God is “uplifting,
consoling and encouraging”. The risen one understands us where we are and will
meet us and take us into a new life, new way of living, new way of being in the
world. There is nothing impossible to God. Resurrection is all about new
possibilities, new beginnings, or say God-possibilities. During this season of
Easter we will continue to listen to the voice of love and open ourselves to
the One who Loves to be messengers of hope, joy and peace in our broken world.
Mary was told, “do not cling to me, go and tell the disciples”. Go forth and
tell the world through your witnessing that He is Risen. Alleluia!
God Bless you always!
