Kingdom
of Love on the Cross!
Jesus
said, “It is finished”!
Yes he did complete the ultimate sacrifice of laying
down his life on the cross for love of me and for everyone.
How intimately
connected Jesus is to me and to every person so much so that it is
mind-boggling to feel and experience the passion and death that Jesus endured.
It is Good Friday for the good reasons for the Only Good One has done the Only
Ultimate Thing to Reclaim, Restore, Renew, Reawaken and Redeem my sin ridden
self so that I may enjoy joy, peace and hope for eternity.
Do we
realize how personal this Love of Jesus is for us?
It is Mercy par excellence!
‘There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” said
Jesus and lived that truth on the cross.
Good Friday according to Kathleen
Norris “is a wake-up call, forcefully reminding us that suffering and death are
real, and that even the Son of God had to endure them.”
But Good Friday is also
about our limited vision.
Just as Pilate we cannot comprehend the Kingdom Jesus
represents, one grounded in truth and love.
To us, death seems like an end, but
for God it is the beginning of our return to the great love from which we came.
On Good Friday God created a Kingdom, we now live in that new reality.
How
blessed are we that the Son of God endured all the sufferings for you and I so
that we may permanently bask in the glory of love!
Thank you Jesus, for taking
up your cross for me and for all of us.
Lord give me a share in your
confidence, your courage and your commitment as I take up my own crosses of
daily for love!
