New Covenant!
God
enters into a covenantal relationship with Abraham and the succeeding
generation.
There is a constant giving and receiving between God and man.
God
initiates the covenant and provides everything, prosperity, abundance of
blessings, nations, kings, land, protection for generations to come through the
magnanimity of the Divine.
On our part we are expected to honor that covenant
and remain in relationship with God.
As the history will tell we violated the
covenantal relationship so many a time.
Still God initiated the sending of His
own Son Jesus as the fulfillment of his covenant with us and in Jesus we see
God in pitching his tent among us, loving us, healing us, walking with us and
generously giving himself in total service.
How blessed are we?
What is then
our response?
What began as a bilateral relationship ends up becoming a
unilateral relationship where God does all the loving and we do all the
receiving.
Lent is a time to recommit ourselves to see, judge and act in
response to God’s generosity.
We can do more than what we currently do with our
lives.
It is time to reflect the glory that is given to us by God.
May our
remaining lives become a reflection of the great
"I AM".
