Daily Lenten Reflections.. Fourtieth Day "SPY WEDNESDAY" Wednesday, April 1,, 2015

Spy Wednesday!

It’s getting near the end.

The betrayer is ready after having picked up the money.

Judas is about to snap.

And yet the Servant seems to be resilient and proves to be all but ready for the challenge.

The audacity of hope, strength of will and character displayed by Jesus in the face of growing animosity, agitation and aggression is truly mind-boggling.

The 21 Coptic martyrs who were led to the shore of death and many of them uttering the name of Jesus as they were brutally murdered showed the world what it costs to believe in God and witness to their faith.

Only those with strength of character and will prove to be standing up for God in these troubling times.

Jesus’ humble acceptance of the cross came with a heavy price tag of self -abdication and self-sacrifice.

He was indeed confident that he will not be put to shame for trusting in His Father.

“See the Lord God is my help; who will prove me wrong?”

When you have God on your side God will fight your battle.

Are you ready to defend the champion of mercy or would you ‘snap’ and ‘crash the flight’ of life and light?

Would you rather conveniently give up on Jesus or rather stand up for God?
