37th Day
of
Lent:
April 10, 2014:
“Glorify God”
At the age of 99, Abram is the recipient of a divine initiative.
God has plans for him?
Really!
Yes God is going to make him a great nation. All
that he needs to do leave his native land, circumcise, have a son, and obey the
covenant.
It is God’s total initiative. It begins as a bilateral agreement,
where both parties are demanded of certain things but eventually it turns out
to be unilateral because the human person defies the covenant, refuses to abide
by the covenant and wanders unfaithfully.
God never stops, perseveres in
fidelity and generosity to the human person.
Jesus the New covenant lives to
fulfill the covenant and lays down His life for the covenant of eternal life
for the human person.
God’s divine identity is revealed and reflected in Jesus
through his generosity, mercy, forgiveness, and unconditional love.
God is
begging us to receive His generous offer, the offer to restore the right
relationship with God.
Pope Francis continues to speak about a relationship at
the root of our faithful covenant with Jesus.
What is stopping us from entering
into that relationship?
Is it because God and our religion is too demanding?
When will we pay attention to the divine longing?
St. Augustine realized it
finally after many years of wandering and surrendering to God’s glory, "our
hearts are restless until they rest in Thee”.
"wired
for God".
Don’t you get it, God is never going to stop, He is the Divine Hound
who will continue to offer his covenantal relationship to us so that we may live
our true identity as God’s children.
It was never too late for Abraham.
with God and live a life of glory in Jesus.
Grace is always available.
Grab it today!
God Bless you always!
